Read MoreFrom the first hours after a death, through the paperwork, the janazah prayer and the burial, to the duas and the charity that keep reaching them afterwards - this guide connects everything a UK Muslim family, or a respectful guest, needs to know.
Six guides. Each one complete on its own. Start wherever today finds you.

The first phone calls, the UK paperwork in plain words, and arranging a quick burial - step by step, so nothing surprises you.
Read the guide → The prayerThe four takbirs and every dua - in Arabic, English letters and English meaning. Learn it in five minutes, even if you never have.
Read the guide → The day itselfThe washing, the prayer, the burial - and what to wear, say and bring, whether you are Muslim or attending as a guest.
Read the guide → The wordsOn hearing the news, for the departed, for your parents, at the graveside - every established dua, word for word.
Read the guide → What you can still doCan you give charity on their behalf? Yes - and the reward reaches them. The evidence from the Qur'an and Sunnah, and how to give.
Read the guide → The lasting giftThe charity Sa'd was told to give - made real through our running Gaza water plant. Not a promise: it flows today.
Read the guide →Grief in Islam has a shape, and every stage of it has something you can do.
The community carries the practical weight - the washing, the prayer, the burial, usually within days. Your part is dua, patience, and letting people help.
Visitors, food, condolences, and the slow return of ordinary days. Dua continues - it costs nothing and never stops reaching them.
It is reported in Sahih Muslim that when a person dies, their deeds end except three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, and a righteous child who prays for them. Dua and sadaqah in their name are the two doors that never close - on their anniversary, in Ramadan, or on any quiet Tuesday.

Dua and charity are the two doors that never close. Water, or the care of an orphan, given on their behalf - their kindness continues.
In their name
When Sa'd ibn Ubadah lost his mother, he asked the Prophet ﷺ what he could still do for her - and dug a well in her name (reported in Sunan Abi Dawud). Fourteen centuries later, families still do the same.
Each child here has lost their father. Your gift supports our orphan care programme in Gaza - it directly benefits the child you choose, along with their siblings and the children in their care network.
Your gift is given in their name - a place where their kindness lives on.
