Our Mission

Two plants. Ten thousand lives.

Aid For Mankind is raising funds to install 2 desalination plants in Gaza. Each plant takes contaminated or salt water and turns it into clean, safe drinking water using a reverse osmosis filtration system.

Once installed, each plant will serve over 5,000 people daily - that's more than 10,000 people who will no longer have to choose between unsafe water or no water at all.

  • Two reverse-osmosis desalination units
  • Over 10,000 people served daily
  • Sustainable, long-term water infrastructure
  • Sadaqah Jariyah - continuous reward for every donor

Frequently Asked

Questions about this appeal

A desalination plant removes salt and contaminants from water to make it safe to drink. The plants we're installing use reverse osmosis (RO) technology - the same process used to purify water around the world. Each unit produces thousands of litres of clean drinking water every day.
Each plant can serve over 5,000 people daily. With 2 plants, we're providing clean water access to more than 10,000 people in Gaza - families, children and elderly people who currently rely on contaminated or salt water.
Yes. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said that one of the best forms of ongoing charity (Sadaqah Jariyah) is to provide water. Because these plants will continue producing clean water for years, every person who drinks from them while you're still alive - and after you've passed - earns you reward, by the permission of Allah.
Yes. Aid For Mankind operates a strict 100% donation policy. Every pound you donate goes directly to installing and maintaining the desalination plants. Our admin and running costs are covered separately.
Water projects that directly serve Zakat-eligible recipients (the poor and needy in Gaza, who are in severe hardship) are generally accepted as Zakat-eligible by most scholars. If you would like your donation specifically allocated as Zakat, please select "Zakat" on the donation form or contact us at info@aidformankind.com.
Yes. We welcome corporate partners who would like to sponsor a full plant (approximately £38,500) or contribute a major gift. Sponsors can be acknowledged on a plaque at the plant site. Email info@aidformankind.com to discuss.
Each desalination plant costs approximately $50,000 (around £38,500) to install in Gaza. This covers the reverse osmosis unit, pre-treatment filters, high-pressure pumps, water storage tanks, piping, fuel for generators, installation labour, site preparation, and the logistics of getting equipment into Gaza under current restrictions. Once installed, each plant serves over 5,000 people daily for years to come.

A single drop can change everything.

"The best form of charity is giving water to drink." - The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
Be the reason a child drinks clean water tomorrow.
